Grades 3 to 4: The Role of Freshwater

This set of scaffolds has been adapted from the NYS CCLS Grade 3 Curriculum Module 4, entitled "The Role of Freshwater around the World."  It is designed for use with ELLs in grades 3 and 4, but could be adapted for use with ELLs in grades 5 and 6 as well.

Grades 3-4 Module: Excel Spreadsheet for Graphing Results on Water Usage Surveys

A pre-formatted spreadsheet that students can use in graphing the results of their surveys on water usage.

Grades 3 to 8: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Based on the NYS CCLS ELA Curriculum Module #1 for Grade 5, these scaffolds offer suggestions on how the topic can be modified for use with ELLs in grades 3 to 8, at varying levels of English proficiency.  The presentation includes a variety of activities and resources for instruction that can assist teachers in aligning their instruction with the Common Core ELA Curriculum on EngageNY.

Grades 9-12: Music

Based on the NYS CCLS Curriculum Module for Grade 9-10, Researching to Deepen Understanding Unit, these scaffolds offer suggestions on how the topic can be modified for use with ELLs in grades 9 to 12, at varying levels of English proficiency.  The presentation includes a variety of activities and resources for instruction that can assist teachers in aligning their instruction with the Common Core ELA Curriculum on EngageNY.
